Kier construction group sees profits rise
16th March 2018
Kier construction which is working on some high-profile schemes in Gloucestershire has reported impressive profits of £48.8 million.
In the six months to Dec 31, Kier's revenue rose 8pc to £2.1bn while profit before tax climbed 4pc to £48.8m, as reported by The Telegraph.
The company is currently working on the refurbishment of the former police station in Gloucester and the construction of the new Gloucester bus station.
Following the collapse of rival, Carillion, earlier this year, Kier says the strength of its £9.5 billion order book means it won't be going the same way.
Kier picked up 250 workers from its failed rival earlier this year and took over its share of the High Speed 2 rail design contract, that the companies had run as a joint venture.
Following the collapse of Carillion, Kier has been working to ensure all of its contractors are in sound financial health.
