Confusing labelling is preventing recycling

Inconsistent labelling, sorting and collection are stopping businesses and households from recycling, according to one of the UK's biggest waste management companies.

While most people want to do their bit and recycle, many are confused by the labels on packaging. The boss of Biffa, which has depots in Gloucestershire and delivers waste and recycling services on behalf of Forest of Dean District Council, said even he finds recycling confusing, as reported by the BBC.

That's why Biffa's chief executive, Michael Topham, is calling for consistent labelling on packaging, similar to the nutritional traffic light labelling.
