Leading Gloucestershire-based haulage and distribution company CM Downton is laying down the foundations for further growth with the appointment of a new managing director.
Formerly operations director, Zac Brown has taken over as managing director from Duncan Eyre who in turn becomes chief executive of EV Cargo Logistics.
CM Downton became part of UK Logistics giant EV Cargo in a £75million deal in November 2018, with the firm previously run by the Downton family for more than 60 years.
Having secured significant new annual contract business during 2019, EV Cargo Logistics is targeting sustained growth and Downton is expected to play a key role in that strategy.
Last year it announced a raft of new business wins and contract extensions including one worth £30 million a year, promising to build on that during 2020.
Driven by technology and leveraging expertise from across EV Cargo, Downton has enhanced its customer proposition over the last 12 months and provides long-term confidence for customers in a competitive marketplace.
Mr Brown said: "Downton continues to attract new business by delivering exceptional levels of customer service, underpinned by an operationally focused workforce with a strong industry experience.
"I look forward to future growth as part of EV Cargo as I take up this new role."
