Gloucestershire Constabulary has put a closure on the both the northbound and southbound carriageways of the M5 between junctions 9 and 11 due to a vehicle fire on the hard shoulder.

Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service are in attendance, and would like to warn motorists of smoke in the area which is causing hazards.

Motorists are asked to avoid the area. The motorway will be reopened once the fire is under control.
