Police appeal for witnesses of a collision involving a Vespa

Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious collision which took place near Cirencester on Saturday (January 22).

Emergency services were called to the A419 Stroud Road near the Agricultural College at around 4.30pm.

The collision involved a Volkswagen Golf and a Piaggio Vespa motorcycle

The rider of the motorcycle, a man aged in his 50s, was taken to Southmead Hospital in Bristol with serious injuries, where he is currently receiving treatment.

No one else was injured.

Investigating officers are asking anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information to make contact.

In particular, officers would like to speak to any road users that were travelling along the A419 in either direction and saw either vehicle or has dash cam footage.

Information can be submitted to police, online or by calling 101, quoting incident 322 of January 22.
