Christmas and new year waste and recycling collections

Councils across the county will be making adjustments to their waste and recycling collection days over Christmas and the New Year.
In Tewkesbury borough, collections scheduled for Monday, December 23 and Tuesday, December 24 will take place as normal, while those scheduled for Christmas Day will take place two days later - on Friday, 27 December.
The full changes for Tewkesbury borough, applying to refuse (green bin), recycling (blue bin) and food waste (caddy) are:
Wednesday, December 25 changes to Friday, December 27
Thursday, December 26 changes to Saturday, December 28
Friday, December 27 changes to Monday, December 30
Monday, December 30 changes to Tuesday, December 31
Tuesday, December 31 changes to Thursday, January 2
Wednesday, January 1 changes to Friday, January 3
Thursday, January 2 changes to Saturday, January 4
Friday, January 3 changes to Monday, January 6
From Monday, January 6 to Friday, January 10, waste and recycling will be picked up one day later than normal.
Cheltenham Borough Council will keep Christmas collection dates the same, with the exception of Christmas Day, Boxing Day and Friday, December 27. These dates won't be rescheduled.
Instead, the council will accept extra waste or recycling on the next scheduled collection dates - Wednesday, January 8, Thursday, January 9 and Friday, January 10.
Between January 1 and 3, collections in Cheltenham will take place a day later than usual ie the collection scheduled for Wednesday, January 1 will change to Thursday, January 2.
Meanwhile, Stroud District Council is only making small changes to its collection schedule:
• If your collection would fall on Wednesday, December 25 - it will be collected on Monday, December 23
• If your collection would fall on Thursday, December 26 - it will be collected on Saturday, December 28
• If your collection would fall on Wednesday, January 1 - it will be collected on Saturday, January 4
The rest of the Christmas and New Year period will stay as normal for Stroud district residents.
