Chill out at Gloucestershire's newest sweet treats café

A new café specialising in waffles, gelatos and scoopshakes has today opened at the rapidly expanding Brewery Quarter in Cheltenham.

Creams Café says it is the latest of its 83 outlets across the UK and will be the brand's flagship store.

Located next to Five Guys, the 100-cover restaurant with relaxed seating areas, cosy booths and casual seating, is described as a "one of a kind dessert restaurant" with its walls adorned with bespoke Swiss graffiti art - in a nod to Cheltenham's popular paint festival.

Demelsa Coleman, marketing manager for The Brewery Quarter, said: "We're delighted to welcome Creams Café and we're thrilled with the quality look of the store.

"The graffiti art inside links in perfectly with The Brewery Quarter's own artwork.

"It brings a vibrant spot for families and people of all ages to enjoy a delicious treat any time of the day. We're always pleased to widen our appeal here at The Brewery Quarter and we've never had anything quite like this before."

Thirty two staff have been recruited to run the new branch. Owner Anwar Uddin said: "We chose Cheltenham because it's such a vibrant town with a great mix of customers. We felt there was a gap at The Brewery Quarter for a classy dessert restaurant that offers a mouth-watering menu of sweet treats.

"Our Italian gelato and giant waffles is something The Brewery Quarter was missing before our big arrival."

Creams Café offers a wide selection of gelatos, waffles, crepes, cakes and puddings. They also serve a range of milkshakes, scoopshakes, powershakes, smoothies, soda floats and slush puppies alongside a traditional range of soft drinks, teas and coffees.

Fruit used in the food and drink is being sourced from local farms in Gloucestershire.

In 2014 work started on £30 million regeneration of The Brewery Quarter, with a retail corridor extending to the town centre's High Street, a 90 bed Premier Inn hotel, 34 residential apartments and 40,000 sq ft office space and 160,000 sq ft retail. Urban Outfitters anchors the High Street retail element of the scheme.
