Expert business seminar for a post-Brexit world

Any clarity on Brexit is a novelty currently - but a forthcoming event promises to deliver the kind of nerve-settling information business so desperately needs.

Business leaders from the county will be briefed on the employment, commercial and data protection law implications of Brexit.

The workshop by legal Legal 500-rated experts Willans LLP solicitors will be covering topics such as commercial agreements and intellectual property post-Brexit along with the new rules for EEA workers in this country, and compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation post March 29.

Delegates will be given plenty of opportunities to ask questions, share ideas and concerns with other directors, senior executives, HR managers and advisors.

Matthew Clayton, a partner at the Cheltenham-headquartered law firm is the head of the firm's employment law division, a team awarded a top-tier ranking in a national independent legal guide.

"March 29 is hurtling towards us with alarming speed, and the current political climate gives businesses little confidence about what Brexit will look like, when or indeed if it happens. However, there are still practical insights to be had about some of the legal implications for businesses of Britain no longer being in the EU," said Mr Clayton.

Chris Wills, partner and head of the firm's corporate and commercial team will also be speaking at the seminar.

"We're looking forward to delivering some straightforward, business-minded guidance on the key legal issues which are most likely to affect organisations after Brexit day, so delegates can come away feeling reassured that, despite the political uncertainty, they'll have a better understanding of their obligations in terms of commercial, employment and data protection law," said Mr Wills.

The workshop at Manor by the Lake in Cheltenham will run from 9am to 1.30pm on February 26. Tickets cost £45 plus VAT (or £40 plus VAT if booked before February 1) and include lunch, coffee and networking opportunities.

Willans LLP is a legal adviser for businesses, individuals, charities and not-for-profit organisations based locally, nationally and internationally, and employ about 80 people at its offices at Imperial Square, Cheltenham.
