Roads near Cheltenham town centre will be shut for three days from next week while they are resurfaced.
Work in Bath Parade will mean it is shut between Bath Road and College Road - together with St Luke's Place and Sandford Street - from 7am-7pm on weekdays from November 12-16.
A diversion will be signposted along Bath Road, Sandford Road and College Road.
Councillor Vernon Smith, Gloucestershire cabinet member for highways, said: "We are committed to replacing well-worn surfaces like this as part of our £150 million investment.
"We know the work will be inconvenient but it is essential to make our roads safer and to create pothole-free journeys."
Councillor Klara Sudbury, who represents Charlton Park and College, said: "This essential work will make journeys smoother and more pleasant for all road users. I appreciate everyone's patience while the work is carried out."
Social distancing measures will be in place to help ensure highways crews are safe at all times.
