Until very recently, Timbercombe House located just off the A435 Cirencester Road in Charlton Kings had been occupied by Yorkshire Building Society. The offices provided administration desk space for 190 employees.

Following its closure, the property was put on the market in 2019 with a guide price of £4.69m but the owners have now been given permission to turn it into residential accommodation.

Once converted, 41 two-bedroom apartments will be spread across its three-storeys, along with new communal corridors, lifts and stairwells.

Purpose-built in 2004 for Chelsea Building Society as a call centre, the development consists of two separate buildings, interlinked by an internal glass link bridge and is surrounded by 136 car parking spaces.

Yorkshire Building Society merged with Chelsea Building Society in 2010 and subsequently re-branded to YBS in 2016. In the following year they announced the phased closure of the offices.

Historically the site was a former railway station and has neighbours including Lilley Brook Golf Club and DoubleTree Hotel by Hilton.
