Cheltenham man arrested on suspicion of murder

A scene guard is in place at an address in Stonehouse following the death of a woman which is being treated as suspicious.

Police were called to a property on Bath Road at 12.30am on Sunday (November 28), where it was reported that a woman had been injured.

Paramedics attended and the woman, aged in her 50s, was pronounced dead at the scene. The woman's next of kin have been informed.

A 53-year-old man from Cheltenham has been arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with the incident and remains in police custody for questioning.

The Major Crime Investigation Team is investigating the death and anyone with information which could assist is asked to contact police.
