Nearly 1,000 Cheltenham residents have received direct support during the COVID-19 lockdown thanks to The Cheltenham Trust, Cheltenham Borough Homes and Cheltenham Borough Council working together as part of the Gloucestershire Help Hub.

Since its launch on March 23, the Help Hub has delivered 2,700 food parcels, collected and delivered 230 prescriptions and made 3,500 welfare calls to Cheltenham residents.

In response to this support, residents have been leaving many positive comments for our teams and officers. Here are some of the comments of appreciation they have received from residents:

Ms. E said: "I'm very grateful for your service and it's very reassuring to have you here."

Ms. P commented: "Happy to make a donation towards food parcels as I've been so grateful for the support I've received."

Ms. S said: "Many thanks to you and the team. It's been a real help and I'm very appreciative of the food parcels."

Mr W added: "I'm so grateful for all of your support and telephone calls over the last 12 weeks, I'm looking forward to going back to work."

Cllr Flo Clucas, cabinet member for healthy lifestyles said: "I would like to thank all the volunteers and people of Cheltenham who have continued to support one another during this time.

"Being able to help the local community these past few weeks has been very rewarding, and to hear the lovely comments from those who we've helped has been fantastic. I hope we can continue to see this kindness and generosity when things feel normal again."

Some Cheltenham Borough Council officers have had their day jobs either changed or reduced drastically in order to support the Help Hub and the services it provides.
