Cheltenham Cocktail Week set to return

The second Cheltenham Cocktail Week will be held in bars, pubs, clubs, restaurants and hotels across the town in May.

Many of the town's best-loved venues will again celebrate the wide array of cocktails available, in an event organised by Cheltenham Business Improvement District (BID) and Pernod Ricard UK.

Eight different venues will host ticketed events ranging from a whisky blending evening to a Champagne brunch. Among the new participants this year is The Queens Hotel, which will host an afternoon tea party with a gin twist.

Other venues across Cheltenham will be selling the Cheltenham Trio, three individual cocktails based on gin, vodka and whisky. The ingredients will be revealed closer to the events.

Cheltenham Cocktail Week will run from Monday 14th May to Saturday 19th May.

The full line-up of events is:

Monday 14: Opening Party with Absolut Vodka, AquaVitae, Ormond Place

Tuesday 15: Chivas Blend experience - learn about the art of blending and take home your own creation, John Gordons, Montpellier Arcade

Wednesday 16: Afternoon Tea Party with Plymouth Gin, The Queens Hotel

Wednesday 16: Plymouth Gin Botanical Lab, Lily Gins, Regent Street

Thursday 17: Battle of the whiskey/whisky giants, Irish Vs Scotch, Wild Beer, Cambray Place
Friday 18: Cuban experience sponsored by Havana Rum, learn to make classic cocktails, Smokey Joes, Bennington Street

Saturday 19: Champagne brunch with Perrier Jouet Champagne, Door 4, Montpellier Walk

Saturday 19: Closing party sponsored by Jameson, The Clarence Social, Clarence Parade.

BID Director Kevan Blackadder said: "Our first Cheltenham Cocktail Week saw all the events sell-out and was very well received by both the public and the venues alike.

"We think the Cheltenham Trio will create a lot of interest across the town. We're hoping to engage even more businesses than last year and believe that many will pick up new customers, not just during the week but for the months ahead."

Pernod Ricard UK is supporting Cheltenham Cocktail Week for the second year.

Business development executive, Keli Toseafa, said: "The Pernod Ricard brand ambassadors will be bringing their expertise to some great events and will be informing as well as entertaining. We're delighted to be working with Cheltenham BID again in such a fantastic town."
