Cheltenham Chamber to host Bank of England at networking lunch
By Sarah Wood | 12th May 2023
The next Cheltenham Chamber of Commerce event will be a key lunch date for the local business community.
Held at Cheltenham's Hotel Du Vin on May 18, it will feature a talk from Malindi Myers, the Bank of England's South West representative.

She will discuss economic developments and the wider macroeconomic backdrop to the Bank's monetary stance.
Has inflation peaked? Where are interest rates headed? Are our banks in sound shape?
Cheltenham Chamber said the Bank of England's view is something every business should be concerned about: "Its interest rate and monetary decisions affect us all. It impacts borrowing costs, exchange rates and funding opportunities. It is charged with managing inflation and maintaining economic stability. So, with everyone worried about rising costs and economic confidence, there could not be a better time to hear from the Bank of England."
Lindsey Holland, Chamber events executive, said: "It will be a great opportunity for our members and guests to network over a delicious two-course lunch and to hear from someone who really has their finger on the pulse of our economy. It will also be a great catalyst for conversations about how our businesses are coping with the issues we're facing."
