Cheltenham businessman runs 300 miles in Movember fundraising effort

A Cheltenham-based software designer has raised more than £1,000 for charity thanks to a mammoth physical effort that saw him run 10 miles per day throughout November.

Christopher Davis, co-founder of app Coacha, a tool that helps amateur sports clubs manage their members and administration, was raising money for the Movember foundation.

The charity focuses its efforts on men's health and specifically mental health - an issue that it very close to Mr Davis' heart.

Having known several men who have sadly taken their own lives, Chris was determined to do his bit to help raise awareness and funds for the cause.

Each year he has set himself a Movember challenge to raise money with his 2019 his biggest yet - both in terms of ambition and money raised.

Having set and easily accomplished a goal of running 100km through November 2018, meeting his target in the middle of the month, he set himself a daunting target for 2019.

Despite a horrific month of weather in Gloucestershire, Chris battled through the storms and flood waters to ensure he met his 10 miles per day target.

And all that came in addition to his duties coaching and training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu every evening, preparing for Coacha's V3 launch and walking his dogs every day.

His hard work and determination certainly hasn't gone unnoticed by his friends, family or colleagues.

Coacha co-founder, Jason Ayers, said: "Things aren't often serious between Chris and me, but all of us at Coacha are extremely proud of his resilience and strength of character.

"He's been running to and from work, on his lunch break and to his coaching duties every single day, all throughout particularly harsh-weather in November.

"Chris never ceases to fall short of selflessness and we really think the world - or at least the people of Gloucestershire - should hear about him.

"We had a great time celebrating the completion of his 300th mile this Saturday... with a generous helping of cake!"
