Mira buys wastewater heat recovery business

Cheltenham-based Kohler Mira has acquired Recoup Energy Solutions.

Recoup has over 10 years' experience in the wastewater heat recovery sector. The Norfolk company has a range of products which extract waste heat energy from used shower water to pre-heat the incoming cold feed - recycling waste heat energy back into a home's hot water system.

Recoup supplies to many national housebuilders and has recently extended its supply agreements with Barratt Developments and Redrow Homes for a tenth year. It has further agreements in place for Avant Homes, Places for People and Miller Homes, with others to follow.

As well as being specified by some of the largest housebuilders in the UK, Recoup also works closely with housing associations and on commercial and leisure projects.

Writing on LinkedIn, Mira said: "Together with our own expertise in showering innovation, this will enable us to expand our offering in an area which is growing, as new build developers look to achieve the government-set Part L targets, set out by the Future Homes Standard.

"This acquisition reinforces our commitment to pioneer and deliver sustainable products to the market and we are really excited to bring Recoup into the Mira family and to see the impact this will have in helping us achieve our sustainability goals."
