CCTV appeal to identify woman following suspected fake charity scam

CCTV images have been released by police to try and identify a woman in connection with a suspected fake charity scam.

The incident happened in Stonehouse at around midday on Saturday, May 25, when a woman approached an 80-year-old man and claimed to be a charity worker.

She requested money, and when he said he had no cash, it is alleged the woman escorted him to a cash point on the High Street and helped him withdraw £200. She then ran away.

Investigating officers have now released images of a woman who they want to speak to in connection with the investigation.

Anyone who recognises her is asked to provide information online by completing the online form and quoting incident 243 of May 26.
