Cath Kidston owner looking to buy Paperchase

The new owner of Cath Kidston, Hilco Capital, is among those looking to snap up Paperchase.

Hilco, the owner of Homebase and former owner of HMV, is looking to buy the stationery and card retailer from current owner Permira Credit, as reported by Retail Gazette.

Paperchase, which has outlets in Next in Gloucester and Cavendish House in Cheltenham, is up for sale 18 months after it underwent a pre-pack administration.

At that time, Paperchase employed nearly 1,300 people, and traded from more than 125 sites across the UK

Permira Credit had supported Paperchase for several years as a lender, before taking a controlling stake last year.
