Card retailer starts selling alcohol

Card and gift retailer Clintons - with branches in Gloucester and Cheltenham - is moving into the booze business - well online at least.

The firm has announced its partnership with award-winning Shropshire-based Henstone Distillery.

The partnership will see Clintons launch its first premium drinks products online. All seven of Henstone Distillery's products are now available to buy from Clintons' website including London dry gin, charcoal filtered vodka and single malt whiskey.

Alongside the full-sized bottles of spirits, Clintons will also be offering branded "snifter" and gin glasses for the single malt whisky, Nonpareil and three different types of gin.

Shoppers will also be able to buy one of Clintons' own novelty gin glasses to complement their Henstone purchase, as well as associated gift wrap and bags.

Eddie Shepherd, Clintons CEO said: "We've long been looking for the perfect selection of premium drinks to add to our collection and inspire our customers, and this fantastic partnership with Henstone Distillery does just that."

Chris Toller, co-founder and director of Henstone Distillery said: "Our expansive and diverse product portfolio means that anyone looking for a gift, whether that's for someone else or as a treat for themselves, is bound to find something they love."
