Businessman committed for sentence for defrauding VAT authorities

A 31 year old Longhope businessman who defrauded the VAT authorities out of more than £46,000 has been committed to Gloucester Crown Court for sentence.

At Cheltenham Magistrates Court last week David Cholefko of The Woodlands, Gloucester Road, indicated guilty pleas to five charges of fraud by claiming he was due to VAT refunds between September 2014 and September 2016.

The charges specify that he claimed payments of £4,012, £8,006, £10,026, £16,506 and £8,006 over that period.

He also faces a charge of preparing a product development agreement to use in the course of fraud.

He was granted unconditional bail pending sentence at the Crown Court on a date to be fixed.
