BT hikes prices by 14.4%

BT is increasing prices by 14.4% next month but still claims it offers "exceptionally good value".

The rise will cost customers about £1 extra a week for its phone service, according to the Sun.

Chief executive Philip Jansen said the higher than inflation rise reflected soaring energy costs.

He said extremely strong demand had led to a record 155,000 customers connected to its ultra-fast Openreach broadband in the past three month.

BT made a £2 billion profit in the last quarter of 2022, the Sun said.
