The Oscars of accountancy shortlist Gloucestershire firm

For the accountants and business advisors among us the British Accountancy Awards are the Oscars of their profession.

And a Gloucestershire firm has been shortlisted for one of the major awards - for the third time.

Randall & Payne has once again been shortlisted in the Audit Team of the Year category and listed alongside other firms from the UK Top 50 for 2018 (by turnover) as well as a firm shortlisted in the National Firm of the Year category.

"Being shortlisted for this award for three years running is an amazing achievement for the audit team here at Randall & Payne," said Russel Byrd (pictured: back row, far right), head of audit and assurance at the Shurdington firm, which employs an estimated 55 staff.

"Our focus has always been to deliver an efficient and effective audit to our clients, working collaboratively with them for a common end goal.

"This recognition is testament to the audit team, and how hard we work to deliver a first-class service to our clients, I am extremely proud of them.

"To put this into perspective, another firm shortlisted is 15th of the top accountancy firms in the UK."

This year has seen the audit team grow with two new recruits.

It was the first team in the firm to invest in automated working papers which is now the catalyst for digitising the firm, and it has maximised the use of other resources and technology to demonstrate the benefits that can come from this.

The county team hears whether its name will be in lights when the awards take place on September 25 at Grosvenor House on Park Lane, London, in front of more than 1000 guests from practices nationwide.
