BPE helps to power management buyout

BPE Solicitors has acted for S&P Contracting Limited on a management buyout of a Gloucestershire electrical installer and distributor.

The buyout of the Stroud firm SP Electrical Limited marks the first step management team's plans fro the company.

Several teams at Cheltenham-based BPE were involved in the deal with corporate partner Adam Kean supported by Angharad Doyle and Rupert Parker (corporate), Doug Armstrong (property) and Chris Aldridge (employment) to provide advice on the commercial property and employment elements of the transaction.

Mr Kean said: "It is great to see business picking up locally amidst Covid.

"SP Electrical Limited is a good example of a local company successfully coming out the other side of coronavirus in a strong position and we're delighted to have been able to assist in this."

Accounting and tax advice for the deal structure and the seller was provided by James Whittaker at Hazlewoods Accountants.

"Their advice was clear and commercial, ensuring a timely completion and allowing us to move forward with the next exciting chapter for the business."
