BPE advises insurance firm on acquisition

Cheltenham-based BPE Solicitors has acted for longstanding client Partners& Holdings Limited (Partners&) on its purchase of Health Matters (UK) Limited (Health Matters).

The move is said to be part of the Partners& strategy to provide a seamless insurance, employee benefits and risk management proposition to commercial and private clients. The experience and expertise of the Health Matters team will augment the existing Partners& wellbeing, engagement and benefits team.

Corporate partner Adam Kean supported by associate, Angharad Doyle, worked closely with Phil Barton (CEO of Partners&) and his team to ensure the transaction with James Henson and Simon Hurley Smith (directors of Health Matters) and the shareholders of Health Matters went smoothly.

BPE's Will Carter and Thomas Christie lent their expertise to the employment and commercial property elements of the transaction.

Mr Kean said: "As always it has been a great pleasure to work with Phil and the Partners& team on another successful transaction. To help boost their offering in this important area has been a fantastic opportunity and we look forward to working with them again soon".

BPE's Corporate team has previously acted for Partners& advising on a significant investment from private equity firm Capital Z Partners and the subsequent acquisition of nine insurance advisory businesses.

Phil Barton, CEO of Partners&, said: "We have built a strong partnership with BPE, and have appreciated the pragmatic and expedient advice that Adam and Angharad and the BPE team have provided to Partners&. Their support in navigating the details of acquisitions has really supported us in successfully building our business."
