Boots Corner roads close again - for resurfacing

Roads around Boots Corner in Cheltenham are to be closed again - but this time it is for overnight resurfacing works.

Clarence Street, North Street and Albion Street will be closed across nine nights from next week to enable work to be done in two phases.

North Street and Clarence Street will be closed from 7pm-7am on weeknights from August 18-25 with Albion Street following suit from August 24-28.

Councillor Vernon Smith, Gloucestershire County Council's cabinet member for highways, said: "As part of our £150million investment, we have identified the need to resurface several roads in Cheltenham town centre to make journeys smoother for motorists and cyclists.

"By carrying out the resurfacing overnight we will keep disruption to a minimum.

"I'd like to thank residents and local businesses for their patience while we carry out this work."

Social distancing measures will be in place to help ensure highways crews are safe at all times.
