Online retailer seeks financial support from supply chain

Boohoo Group has asked suppliers for a discount on delivered and undelivered clothing as it looks to reduce costs in its supply chain, according to the Retail Gazette.

One supplier told The Times that the online retailer had "demanded" a 10% discount for all outstanding orders.
"It turns all orders produced into losses," they said.
"They are struggling to find suppliers and now they are screwing the ones they have."
Last year, the group faced supplier backlash when it extended its payment from 30 days to 60 days.
The group is in the process of reducing costs across its business as it grapples with falling sales amid the rising cost of living.
It is also currently consulting on more than 100 roles at its Soho office as well as 50 roles in its Manchester head office.
