Bishop's Cleeve firms build on friendship for acquisition

A working relationship which dates back almost four decades has been strengthened with Snape Contracting acquiring fellow Bishop's Cleeve company Talus Construction.

The deal, which will see the Talus team work alongside Snape contracting director Tony Cook on industrial, commercial and civil projects, has come together in the last few months.

But its roots date back much further to when Snape managing director Darryl Hawkins worked under Chris Evans, founder of Talus Construction.

Their friendship has endured across almost 40 years with the pair supporting each other throughout their careers.

Mr Evans, who will remain as managing director of Talus Construction, said: "It was always my aspiration for Talus to continue well into the future and way beyond that of my own career.

"Witnessing the sustained growth of Snape Contracting, I knew this was the opportunity to continue to grow the Talus brand."

He continued: "We are delighted that the strength of our brand, as well as its future potential, has been recognised.

"We remain committed to continuing the quality delivery of projects our clients have come to expect from us.

"With the trust and respect I have for Darryl, I believe the future of Talus is in safe hands."

Both organisations share a commitment to providing clients with outstanding levels of service and say the acquisition will strengthen the delivery of project excellence throughout the public and private sectors.

Mr Hawkins said: "I am pleased to welcome Chris and his team to form a very important part of Snape Contracting.

"The Talus brand has a bright future and I'm confident it will enjoy even greater success with the continued support of Snape Contracting.

"I am particularly pleased to again be working alongside Chris who was there at the start of my career in the industry and was a very positive influence on how my career has developed."
