Bid to turn loos into café

The owner of an eyesore in the centre of Cheltenham is looking to turn it into a café.

The public toilets on the corner of Ambrose Street and High Street closed in June 2022 and Cheltenham Borough Council put the building on the market last year.

The new owner, Ankur Nautiyal, has applied to the council for planning permission to transform the 61.67sq m building into a café.

If it gets the go-ahead, the new café will be open 8am to 5pm, seven days a week, and will create four new jobs in the town.
