Betterware is latest retailer to collapse

Catalogue company, Betterware, is the latest in a long line of retailers to go into administration.
The collapse of the company, which sold household items door-to-door through a catalogue or online, means thousands of part-time self-employed sellers will lose their income, as reported by The Times.
More than 90 jobs will also go at the company's headquarters in Birmingham.
Betterware blamed difficult trading conditions and cashflow problems for its demise.
The news comes just days after the collapse of Kleeneze , a similar company selling household goods on the doorstep, and one of Britain's oldest catalogue companies.
Betterware was founded in 1928 and its catalogue was introduced in the 1970s.
Punchline says: "It's sad to see another traditional company fold, particularly one that earned much-needed cash for low income families. But the likes of Betterware just can't compete with the might of Amazon and the other big online retailers. Retail has become a very uneven playing field."
