Johnny English star opens new coffee shop

It was not just the great coffee and food which attracted an incredible first wave of customers to a new Cirencester coffee shop - it was also a certain Ben Miller.

The comedian and actor - currently starring in the Johnny English Strikes Again big screen film - is a friend of the founders of Triple Two Coffee and agreed to add a little star quality to the opening.

Rival café chains - or any high street business for that matter - would no doubt have watched on enviously as customers queued down the street for the chance to try the new establishment.

David Hodgetts, from Gloucestershire, co-founded the franchise business with Sezan Walker.

"What an amazing weekend we have had at the opening of our new Cirencester store.

"The store was unbelievably busy all weekend and it was great to have comedian and actor Ben Miller cut the ribbon for the store opening," said Mr Hodgetts, sales director at Triple Two Coffee who posted the news on Linkedin .

"Massive praise to all the team for this one. This really is a truly stunning store with a really strong offering for the customers."

As if to prove it was not just the draw of Mr Miller - who got to know the owners after becoming a regular customer at its first ever shop in Swindon - Sunday was equally busy for the Cirencester Trip Two. So much so it will be taking on extra staff to cope going forward, taking the team to 10.

"The next store opening will be in 23 days' time. Announcements of the location will be made shortly."

We can tell you, however (with Mr Hodgett's permission), that next new store will be in Croydon.

"It will also have a courtyard and room for 30 covers too. It will be gorgeous," said Mr Hodgetts.
