BBQ takeaway business expands into Stroud's Five Valleys

Gloucester-born business 'The BBQ Society' is set to open it's second venue at Five Valleys indoor market in Stroud this week.

When owners Ben Williams and Sophie Tinsley were furloughed from their hospitality and fashion design roles during the Covid-19 pandemic, they started selling their homemade BBQ sauce to friends and neighbours to top up their income.

The couple developed a menu to complement their BBQ sauce and quickly built a strong following.

A couple of months into running a takeaway business from their home kitchen, they were named as one of the highest rated food venues in their area on Gloucester Eats and Just-eat.

After opening their first kitchen in the Old England Match Factory at Morelands Trading Estate in Gloucester, they are now expanding their business into Five Valleys.

Ben Williams said: "We are so excited to start out new journey at Five Valleys Shopping Centre! It's been a whirlwind so far and now we can't wait to become part of the indoor market team."

The BBQ Society said it sets itself apart by using only locally sourced ingredients from some of Gloucestershire's best producers.

Menu items include freshly smoked pulled pork boxes, hot dogs, using the best Gloucester old spot sausages, cheeseburgers and loaded fries.

The new venue at Five Valleys shopping centre is set to open in Unit 7 of the indoor market this week.
