Man charged with attempted murder following Barton Street incident

A 26-year-old man has been charged after an incident in Gloucester on Monday (August 26) which left one man in a critical condition in hospital and another injured.

Esam Dawood of Barton Street, Gloucester has been charged by police with attempted murder, wounding with intent and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.

He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Cheltenham Magistrates' Court today (Thursday, August 29).

A man aged in his 30s who suffered serious injuries in connection with the incident on the evening of Monday 26 August remains in hospital in a critical but stable condition.

A second man who suffered an injury to his arm required hospital treatment and was later discharged.
