Balaclavas gang brandishing crowbars hit business

A gang wearing balaclavas and brandishing crowbars and baseball bats has raided a Cheltenham business.

Three people have been arrested in connection with what police are describing as "an attempted aggravated burglary" on Tuesday night (March 27).

Police were called to the American Golf Store, in Tewkesbury Road, at about 9.15pm following reports a group of men had forced their way into the store.

On arrival officers disturbed the offenders who threatened two police community support officers (PCSOs) with crowbars, before making off.

The officers were not physically injured.

A thorough search of the area was conducted, including resources from the National Police Air Service (NPAS) and the police dog unit.
