Award-winning British chocolatier to open at Gloucester Quays

One of the nation's favourite chocolate shops has unwrapped its plans for a tasty new addition to the retail offer at Gloucester Quays - which will create jobs in the city.

None other than confectionary plc Hotel Chocolat has revealed it is to add to its portfolio with a new store at Gloucestershire's waterside shopping Mecca.

Fans who make the pilgrimage up the Golden Valley to its other county store, in Cheltenham, will now be able to get their fix at the Peel Lifestyle Outlets-owned retail centre.

Peter Harris, co-founder of Hotel Chocolat, which also grows its own cocoa beans at its farm in St Lucia, Eastern Caribbean, said the company was "delighted to be bringing Hotel Chocolat to Gloucester Quays".

"We're on a mission to make as many people happy as we can through good quality chocolate - made with more cocoa, less sugar.

"This latest addition forms part of our ever-growing portfolio across the UK, Channel Islands, Europe, Hong Kong, Japan and the US."

It has recently opened its first boutique store in New York City, followed by a second store in New Jersey.

Hotel Chocolat is already advertising for staff including a store manager and assistant store manager.

Perks for wannabe staff include 50 per cent unlimited discount on the firm's products and for the adventurous - who want to see where those all-important beans come from - 70 per cent discount on a stay at the company's hotel in St Lucia.

If you insist only on Hotel Chocolat and are already thinking this is where you are going for this year's Easter egg supply you should reset your satnav for the Cheltenham store.

Or if you are partial to other brands too - try the Quay's Lindt Chocolate Shop or Cadbury Factory Shop.

The new addition is not due to open until the Autumn.
