A would-be burglar was stopped in his tracks this morning by officers and a search dog from Gloucestershire Police.

Just before 5am this morning, a woman in her eighties reported that a man was at the window of her Hewlett Road home and trying to break in.

Officers from the Force Response United attended the scene immediately, along with a search dog and found a man in the garden.
