Assault sees man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder

Police are appealing for dash-cam footage of an incident in the area of Badgeworth Road heading toward Cheltenham yesterday, April 19.

It is believed the incident happened between 4.25pm and 4.45pm and involved two vehicles, a 2011 black Ford Focus and a 2006 grey Vauxhall Astra.

Police responded to reports that one of the motorists exited his vehicle and assaulted the driver of the other car.

The man sustained serious injuries and was taken by paramedics to Southmead Hospital in Bristol where he is in a stable condition.

One man, aged in his 30s, has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in connection with the incident and is in police custody.

A number of cordons remained in place while police were at the scene and the National Police Air Service also provided support.

Investigating officers are now keen to hear from anyone who has dashcam footage and was traveling in the areas of Bamfurlong Lane and Badgeworth Road between 4.25pm and 4.45pm.
