Don't be afraid to ask for help this Mental Health Awareness Week

This Mental Health Awareness Week, NHS services in the county are encouraging people to seek support with their mental health and wellbeing and not to put off asking for help.
There is a concern nationally, that due to the coronavirus outbreak people are putting off visiting their GP or contacting health services.
However, NHS professionals in Gloucestershire have said the message is clear - the NHS is still here for you and available to provide treatment and support.
The public are being reminded that you can access support in a number of ways. For example, a 24-hour a day, seven day a week helpline is now available for anyone in Gloucestershire experiencing mental health distress and needing urgent support or advice.
The service is available by ringing 0800 169 0398. The line is staffed by mental health professionals who can offer guidance and advice to help you or someone you care for through the initial stages of a mental health crisis.

Chats can be accessed through a drop-in service or booked sessions; there is no referral needed from a health professional, no waiting lists, and no criteria to meet to get support.
