Arts trust reveals new contract with food supplier

Capturing the hearts of the high minded among us motivated by the arts is, it seems, just the same as for the rest of us. It is through our bellies.

Which explains why The Cheltenham Trust, the charity that manages some of the town's major venues and attractions, is so excited by a deal it has struck with a new food supplier.

It has unveiled national catering company KUDOS as its new exclusive retail and hospitality catering partner for the likes of the town hall, Pittville Pump Room, Leisure at Cheltenham, The Wilson Art Gallery & Museum and The Prince of Wales Stadium.

A new umbrella brand "with a fresh vision and contemporary look", GLORIOUS Events, has been created "to help position The Cheltenham Trust's venues as the first choice for spectacular events in Gloucestershire".

Julie Finch, CEO of The Cheltenham Trust said: "We recognise that our food offering across our five venues is a vital ingredient in how we create memorable experiences for our customers.

"We were impressed with Kudos' vision and felt the company were the ideal commercial partner to drive forward our hospitality and catering offering and create excellent café experiences for our day-to-day business."

The trust's venues total more than twenty versatile event spaces which are used for everything from weddings, parties, charity balls, exhibitions, awards evenings, corporate events and business meetings.

KUDOS has taken over from the previous providers and will work with the trust to provide a bespoke food offering and a fresh new look and feel in terms of design and identity across all venues.

For six out of seven years KUDOS has won the Best Food and Beverage Supplier and Best Conference and Banqueting Staff at the M&IT Awards, winning in 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018.

Presenting itself under the GLORIOUS Events brand, seasonal and modern pop-up food concepts will be created using locally sourced ingredients, sprinkled with a dash of imagination and originality.

KUDOS vegan coach, Rochelle Costa will be designing bespoke menus, targeting keen fitness enthusiasts that use the Leisure at Cheltenham facilities with healthy and nutritious options.

The Wilson Café now has a menu with several items that will change weekly, to help position the space as a food destination in its own right for both local people and tourists.

Matthew Herter, chief executive of KUDOS, said "The team are absolutely thrilled to have begun an exciting partnership with all five unique venues that make up The Cheltenham Trust.

"The trust has a huge impact, enriching the lives of residents through art, culture, sports and heritage; therefore we are grateful to be part of such a service to the community.

"Our vision is to provide a wider variety of delightful yet healthy food options for such a diverse audience, whilst maintaining our focus on provenance and sustainability."

The Cheltenham Trust is an independent organisation focused on developing Cheltenham's culture and sport offer through community engagement, sustainable investment and social enterprise.
