Arrest after man sustains wounds in assault in Gloucester Quays

A man has been arrested in connection with an incident in Gloucester Quays on Monday evening after another man sustained wounds.

Police were called shortly after 7.15pm on Monday, March 20, with a report a man who was inside The Gym Group on Llanthony Road had been stabbed.

Emergency services attended and the victim, aged in his 20s, was taken to Southmead Hospital in Bristol by paramedics for treatment. He remains there in a stable condition.

A 28-year-old man from Gloucester was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm and is in police custody.

Officers remain at the scene while enquiries are ongoing.

Any witnesses who have not already spoken to police are asked to provide information by calling 101 or by completing the online form and quoting incident 400 of March 20.
