Armed raider targets Gloucester restaurant

Police have launched an appeal for witnesses after an armed raider made off with cash from a Gloucester restaurant.

The man struck at Frankie and Benny's on St Oswald's Retail Park in Gloucester on Sunday night, threatening a member of staff.

According to police the incident happened at about 11.15pm. A member of staff was cashing up when a man entered the office, threatened him with a knife and demanded he hand over the cash.

Before making off with the money in a black, drawstring JD-branded bag the offender taped the staff member's wrists to a rail near to the fire exit.

The man managed to break free and raised the alarm

The offender is described as a white man, 6ft tall, of stocky build and wearing a black hoodie, black tracksuit trousers, a black hat and a scarf over his face.

He made off through the back of the retail park in the direction of Mercia Road.

Anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting incident 403 of November 4.
