Appeal for witnesses after two officers assaulted in Stroud

Police in Stroud are appealing for witnesses after an assault on two officers yesterday afternoon (Monday, December 3).

The officers were attending a 'concern for welfare incident' near Travis Perkins in Wallbridge at about 3.30pm when they were assaulted by a female.

It's believed that during the assault a female officer was punched in the head and had her hair pulled and a male officer was bitten and spat at.

There were a number of people nearby at the time and anyone who hasn't spoken to police yet is urged to come forward on 101 and quote incident 257 of 3 December.

A 17-year-old girl was arrested on suspicion of assaulting a police officer in connection with this incident and remains in police custody at this time.
