Another part of Gloucester's regeneration has begun

An important part of the multi-million pound regeneration of Gloucester's dockside area is starting to take shape.

Work is well underway to prepare the foundations for McCarthy & Stone's prestigious retirement development on derelict land at Llanthony Wharf.

The plans include 83 flats for the elderly off of St Ann Way with stunning views over the Gloucester and Sharpness Canal.

The scheme will include 55 assisted living apartments and 28 retirement flats. The development will create 18 full-time jobs and up to 80 people are working on the construction.

When completed in the New Year another piece of Gloucester's regeneration jigsaw will have fallen into place.

As well as creating employment the McCarthy & Stone development will help benefit the local economy by increasing footfall for local businesses.
