Animal charity could be forced to close without more support

Gloucester based cat and dog rescue centre Teckels Animal Sanctuary, is urgently appealing for help to keep the centre alive and kicking into the New Year.
The rescue and rehoming centre is a charitable organisation, which cares for and rehabilitates homeless cats and dogs and finds them forever homes. Some of these animals have had a difficult past during which they may have been abused, neglected or abandoned.
Sadly, due to a funding shortage, they have already had to reduce staffing numbers. Now it needs more public support and fundraising if it is to continue.
Teckels opened in 2003 and each year rehome over 250 cats and 150 dogs. It has held the stray dog contract for Stroud District Council for more than 15 years.
One of these is Roxy the dog (pictured right), who arrived at Teckels nearly 8 years ago. She was finally adopted in November this year, after being with Teckels for 2,786 days and is spending Christmas in a loving home with people who will give her the life she deserves.
The future is now uncertain for Teckels and the 400 homeless cats and dogs that they welcome each year.
Any contribution towards the running cost of the centre would be greatly appreciated by Teckels. If you would be able to organise a fundraising activity or event, such as a sponsored dog walk or cake sale from your school or office on their behalf, or if you would like more information, contact assistantmanager@teckelsanimalsanctuaries.co.uk.
Teckels are also seeking new trustees to join the board, helping them through this tough time and beyond.
