Amazon tops £120bn sales in three months

Online giant Amazon made £120bn in sales in the final quarter of 2022.

The figure is a 9% increase on the previous year and an average of £1.3bn every single day, as reported by The Daily Mail.

Full year sales at the retailer, which has a warehouse in Gloucester, also increased by 9% - at £420bn for the year.

Despite this, profits were down to £2.2bn for the quarter, compared to £2.9bn for the final quarter of 2021.

Last month, Amazon announced it would be cutting 18,000 jobs - the biggest job cuts in its history. And members of the GMB union at its warehouse in Coventry voted to walk out in a protest over pay.
