Accountancy and law firm marks five years in business

A company which claims to have led the way in modern professional services by combining accountancy and law under one roof, is celebrating five years in business.

Optimum Professional Services was created in 2017, bringing together accountants and lawyers with decades of experience between them.

The firm initially operated from serviced offices. It quickly expanded, and the team are now located in their own building in Swindon.

In March 2021, Optimum opened a second office, in Cheltenham.

It has also taken over a number of smaller accountancy practices, including Stroud-based Chris Mattos Tax in April last year.

The six strong board comprises Michael Blaken, Tracey Heath, Jon Lacey, Iain Mason, Hannah Matthews and Rob Stokes, heading up a team of more than 25.

Rob Stokes said: "We championed the idea of combining accountancy and legal services within one company, to offer a more seamless service to our clients, with ease of access to professionals providing expert, quality advice."

On the accountancy side, Optimum offers accounting and audit, business and personal tax planning, business planning, bookkeeping and payroll.

The legal team, headed by solicitor Iain Mason, provide expertise in domestic and commercial property conveyancing, as well as wider commercial legal advice to the firm's client base.

Mr Mason added: "Clients appreciate being able to deal with the same company for their professional services. To us, what might be a straightforward question easily answered is something that a client has been struggling with - being able to provide a quick opinion resonates with clients.

"We have business accountancy clients who we can help with their commercial property moves, or moving home. As a business model, it has worked exceptionally well."
