A417 closure starts tonight
By Matt Hall | 24th November 2020
Overnight maintenance work will take place between the Air Balloon roundabout and the Leckhampton Hill junction from today, November 24.
To improve the safety of the busy Leckhampton Hill junction, highways crews will be on site for two nights removing the bollards and existing road lining, and then installing new road markings and a new filter lane.
To help minimise disruption, the road between the Air Balloon roundabout and the Leckhampton Hill junction will be closed eastbound on November 24 and 25 from 10pm to 6am.
The left hand lane on the A417 on the approach to the Air Balloon roundabout from Gloucester will be also be closed during this time.
Cllr Vernon Smith, cabinet member for highways, said: "Making sure our road network is as efficient and safe for all road users is a top priority for the county council. These improvements will allow traffic to continue to flow through our county, and I'd like to thank road users for their patience while we carry out this essential work."
Social distancing measures will be in place to help ensure our highways crews are safe at all times.
