Sainsbury's in Barnwood was evacuated after a road accident and reports of a man threatening shoppers with broken bottles.
Police were called at 4.20pm yesterday afternoon (July 2) to the supermarket in Barnett Way.
"A man, who had just been involved in a road traffic collision involving a Mercedes and a Skoda on the Barnwood Link Road, entered the store and started making threats and throwing glass bottles at staff and customers," said a statement from Gloucestershire police.
An ambulance was called and two adults who suffered minor cuts and bruises were treated by paramedics at the scene.
Staff assisted in the safe evacuation of the store and it was closed.
"A 22 year old man from Gloucester, who received medical assistance at the scene, has been arrested for various offences including on suspicion of motoring offences and criminal damage," said the statement.
"We would like to reassure the public that this is an isolated incident and we'd like to thank the staff at Sainsbury's, together with other members of the public, for their support."
Incident 368 of July 2.
