100-plus new homes near Gloucester get go-ahead

Work is set to start on a brand-new development near Gloucester, after planners approved proposals from house builder David Wilson Homes.

A development of 142 new homes was given the go-ahead by planners and means the beginning of what the housebuilder is calling "a new community, and the creation of employment for local workers".

It's expected that the construction and sales of the new homes will support a large number of jobs, including those for local people and subcontractors, according to David Wilson Homes.

The new development, which will feature a range of two, three and four bedroom homes, will be called Rosewood Grange and construction work will start this month.

"This is great for people wishing to settle in this sought-after area," sales director Louise Ware.

"We think very carefully before deciding where to build new properties - and we know demand here is very high. We're thrilled to be playing our part in bringing new homes to people in the area.

"The layout of this development has been created with a whole host of lifestyles in mind - from sole occupants and couples to growing families. This is very important to us.

"We know there is a need for new and accessible housing in this region, and our home designers have done us proud here.

"We're expecting interest to be high thanks to the high quality of the homes and the fantastic location of Hunts Grove.

"It's within close reach of both Gloucester and Cheltenham, which are 15 and 25 minutes away respectively by car."
