Brunsdon extends a warm welcome from its Forest branch

Brunsdon, the Gloucester-based insurance and financial services broker welcomed existing and potential clients to its new Forest of Dean base at Vantage Point Business Village, Mitcheldean on July 13.

The new office will provide ‘on-the-spot’ service for Brunsdon’s current and prospective individual and corporate clients in the Forest and surrounding areas.

To mark the event Brunsdon held a ‘get to know you’ open event in the Vantage Point Conference Centre in the main building.

Brunsdon’s Operations Director Paul Baldwin said: “We already have very good contacts here in the Forest as our staff here are all Foresters so we decided to hold a lunch time meet and greet event.

“It was fairly low key with a simple buffet lunch with guests free to come and go at any time between noon and 2pm but we were very pleased when about 100 people popped in to say hello.

“We had a business card raffle for a ‘Kindle’ e-book reader which was won by Claire Merryweather of the Warranty Group.

“Our decision to go for an office at Vantage Point was endorsed following a GFirst breakfast seminar we attended here back in January. The turnout from local companies was very encouraging and reinforced our view that a physical office presence is necessary to do business here.”

Fellow Brunsdon Director Marcus Gomery added: “The emphasis is definitely on ‘local.’ Having been born and bred in the Forest myself, I know that people living and working here have a strong local identity and appreciate dealing with a locally-based company.

“All the staff that will be looking after the Vantage Point office are true Foresters. They include Dean Baldwin, living in Coalway, Seb Merritt, who plays rugby for Cinderford and hails from Mile End, and Trevor Hough is a stone’s throw away in Broadwell.”

Paul explained that the opening of the Mitcheldean office could be the start of a wider expansion programme for Brunsdon across Gloucestershire.

“We have plans to open another office in Cheltenham in the not-too-distant future. After that we may look at other towns in the area,” he said.
