Motorists have been warned to expect diversions along a popular route in Gloucestershire while resurfacing work takes place.
Gloucestershire County Council has announced today that a diversion route will be in place on the B4070 Stroud Road in Birdlip from 9-20 June, between 7.30am to 5.30pm daily, but not including weekends.
A signposted diversion route will be in place from Birdlip north and then west on the A417 to Brockworth, then south on the A46 to Stroud, back onto the A4070.
Cllr Vernon Smith, cabinet member for highways and flood, said: "We know residents are keen for the surface to be improved along this route, so we're investing to keep it in excellent condition and eliminate potholes."
Cllr Nigel Robbins, local member for Cirencester Beeches, said: "This is great news for Birdlip residents and I'm really pleased the work is starting.
"This stretch of road gets many locals from A to B on a daily basis, but we would still encourage people using the road to keep their speed down when passing through the village."
